T Minus 2 Days | Smith Mountain Lake Maternity Fine Art & Photographer

A few weeks ago I had an out of town birth session to look forward to.  My little sister was bringing a new baby into the family!  I got there two days before her due date, determined not to be traveling while she was in labor (like the last time I had an out of town birth session!).  We shot this session the night before her due date.  Turns out I got there just in time...she started labor the next day!  Sticking with my trend of sending my maternity clients into labor.  This is the third time I've done a session and had Mom go into labor within a week.  Seriously ladies...contact me for a session because I think there's something to it!  ;)

I love heading to this part of the country for sessions, because there is such an abundance of places to shoot.  It's never boring, and always gorgeous.

Can you believe the cuteness that is this belly?

I'll be putting up the birth session soon, don't miss it!

Angie + Carlos | Maryland Fine Art Engagement Photographer

I met Angie about 2 years ago during the first set of minis that I did for the FRM, and she came back again this year with her fiance!  It was so great to meet him, and to see her so happy and in love!  I love shooting engagements, it really does my soul good to see so much love.

New Friends | Maryland Fine Art Family Photographer

This is the first time I've ever had the pleasure of meeting this family, I love meeting new people through this business!  This family came prepared with thoughts of how they were going to interact, and I really enjoyed watching them play together.

I am in love with Mom's laugh/smile I kept catching on my camera.  It's just infectious!

So the day we did this mini, it was Mom and Dad's anniversary!  That meant I needed to get at least one that I loved of them together, as a couple.  It's so important to have at least one.

Their son came to me privately and asked me to try and get a shot of them kissing on camera.  How sweet is that?

Perfect Timing | Maryland Fine Art Maternity Photographer

There's something so amazing about an expectant mother.  I love hearing about their thoughts and dreams for their new little ones, and I especially love hearing the names they choose for their new child and why they chose the name.  I had a great time with this couple, listening to her tell me about her little girls (yes, twins!) reminded me of how I felt when I was pregnant with my daughters.

The other thing amazing about this session is we got it in JUST in time - their babies arrived 2 days later.  I can't wait to meet them in the next few weeks!  Mom says they have heads full of hair.  I just know they're beautiful.  :)

Ashley + David = Married! | Virginia Fine Art & Wedding Photographer

Those of you that know me know that I don't typically do weddings.  Especially weddings that I'm actually IN.  But how could I resist not taking some pictures of my little sister's wedding?  The best part was that I got to shoot what I wanted to shoot, as I wanted to shoot it and still be involved as a bridesmaid.  She looked beautiful and he only had eyes for her.  My heart is so happy for them!

Getting ready is where all of the fun happens.

I couldn't resist this.  She's got a pretty sensitive scalp, but still found a way to make it fun. :)

Still has her sense of humor.  :)  This was the last play time we got before crunch time came.

You're going to have to imagine a simple yet sweet and love filled ceremony, it's not quite customary for a bridesmaid to be snapping pictures while the ceremony is in progress.  :)  I did get them alone afterwards, which is my other favorite part!
