Textures = art - Maryland | DC Metro | Frederick County Child Photographer

Many times during my editing process, I enjoy adding "textures" to an image. It doesn't work on all shots, but sometimes it gives the image more depth and dimension. And it turns an average shot into a work of art.

Sometimes textures add additional colors to a black and white image.

Sometimes textures create a vintage feel.

Textures can also help illuminate areas to create a sense of spotlightling for certain aspects of the image.
But most times, textures just help to give the image that extra something.

Applying texture to images is something I tend to do regularly with at least one image from a session. I pick the most appropriate shots and work with them to find just the right texture. It's something I truly enjoy doing, and hopefully something that you truly enjoy seeing. My idea behind it is to make it a true work of art, something that won't lose appeal if hung on your wall. Because true art is timeless.
